The one thing you’ll never fail to find in my wardrobe are trousers! I’ve always favored them for the strong tailoring and perfect fit that immediately elevates one’s presence. Coincidentally, it just happens to be that one of Spring’s biggest trends is power suits. That alone makes the work pant a relevant player in fashion this spring – and I love that trousers have become more versatile than ever! The ones I’m wearing today are from Banana Republic, which exceeds all my criteria for the modern work pants. From the rise, length, color selection, and comfort, it’s a truly functional style that I can’t stop wearing.…

I’m all about wearability these days, and I especially love when something works for lunch meetings, night outs, and weekend runs. These trousers happen to be one of those rare hits! If you’re not so sure you can wear them any day of the week, follow my tips below to transition those work pants from office to weekend.

Pick a fun color
Workwear doesn’t just have to be black or navy anymore. Spring marks new beginnings, so try the work pant in a fresh, soft hue like lavender. It works for the office when you pair it with neutrals like this white blouse and black heels. But you can easily take it to the weekend by mixing in casual fabrics and contrasting colors. I love that Banana Republic carries other trending hues like red, bubble gum pink, and periwinkle blues, which make for fresh takes on this basic pant.
Swap your jacket
The blazer + trouser combo is a traditional office dress code that most of us loathe. Fresh tones help to reignite your love for workwear but it gets better when you mix in prints and patterns. That’s exactly why I went with a double breasted, stripe blazer for my 9-5 outfit. It looks so crisp but easy on the eyes. When you’re ready to step outside the desk and plunge into the weekend, leave the blazer at home and throw on a denim piece. I love all the different ways you can style denim jackets right now and this swanky one is perfect for wearing off the shoulders.
Trade in your heels
Your work pants will always look professional and sleek with heels, but to finally avoid that office feel, lay off the pumps. I went with sneakers because there’s no better solution for a weekend of errands and chasing the kids. But, beaded sandals or bright espadrilles will also lighten up the office vibes.
I don’t think there’s any piece in my closet that’s more versatile than these work pants right now. I highly suggest you hop on over to your closest Banana Republic store (or online) to take a peek at their trouser selection and jump on board before everyone else does!
