I wanted to highlight one of my favorites looks from NYFW and share some styling tips for wearing pastel in the winter.
1. Create a high-impact look with one loud pastel piece.
Sometimes, all you need is one pastel piece. In the case of winter, I recommend making that one statement piece your coat. Whether you’re wearing fur, a blazer, or a trendy puffer, take it in lavender, mint, or pink. From fashion week, I noticed that pastel suits were super popular. You can try one in Spring’s trendiest color, lavender.

2. Color coordinate your accessories.
You guys know how much I color coordinate all my outfits. It’s just an instinctual thing to do. In this look, I paired mint sunnies with a mint clutch, and this Saks Potts coat with mint fur. Keeping it light and bright caught surely caught the eyes of others.

3. Pair with bold colors.
I find that pastels look beautiful when sitting alongside daring colors. That might be way pink and red is such a thing right now. But even pale yellow with cobalt blue or mint with emerald green. Mixing pastels with bold tints make it feel less youthful and feminine. Try a bright colored coat with a pastel blouse or bold trousers with a pastel knit.

4. Play it safe in a dress.
For us women, everything looks great in dress form. If you want to wear pastel but aren’t sure how to pull it off, grab a dress. Pastel dresses are great because they never look too intentional. You can also get away with layering them with darker jackets and coats to make them feel more appropriate for the cold weather.
