Each fashion week, I’m always amazed by the sheer volume of talent in the streets. From street style photographers to influencers and stylists to editors, everyone is really on top of their game. That being said, the fashion gets significantly better and better too. I oftentimes get more inspiration watching show-goers than the actual runway. As fashion month winds down to an end, I wanted to to share the major fashion week street style trends worth making note of! Surely these ideas will make their way into your wardrobes too!

Utilitarian vibes are back and better than ever. Every fashion insider is rocking this semi-androgynous trend but this time around, it is more sophisticated than ever. Rather than your tropical safari jumpsuit or cargo pant, utilitarian wear hit the streets in a more refined way that translated to oversized pockets on blazers and oversized coats. Key colors and elements within this street style trend are neutrals, saturated hues, drawstrings and practical pockets.

70s Revival

On the street and on the runway is this high demand for the 70’s to make a huge comeback. I am speaking quite literally too. Oversized floral prints, corduroy and boots are back. I saw a ton of Fashion Week attendees wearing pieces reminiscent from that era. I partook in this homage to the 70s quite recently with fun mini dresses, bold colors, and oversized sunglasses.

Bralettes (or nothing) Under Blazers

Blazers and tailored clothing continues to play a huge part in terms of street style. As we make our way into the warmer weather, we are also adjusting this trend so it is a little more sexy. I am talking bralettes or cropped tops styled underneath your oversized blazers. This look isn’t necessarily business casual but it looks absolutely killer. Or take it a step further and forgo the bralette all together. Let the blazer be your top for an even edgier outfit!

Dramatic Slits

Speaking of tasteful exposure, this trend is also featured on the bottom portion of an outfit too. Dramatic leg slits in skirts are a huge street wear trend right now. The reveal of one leg from underneath a floor length skirt or dress exposes just enough skin to add a little flirtatious flair without being too flashy. Plus, this dramatic slit is a great way to show off your shoes too.

Minty Fresh

This past fall, fashion insiders could seriously not get enough of the shade pistachio. This soft green trend is continuing into the spring and summer but is getting a slight update. The new “It” green has a little bit more of a bluer tinge in it and is considered more of a mint. This seriously such a fresh, clean shade and is a great color to transition out of winter and into spring with.

Menswear Outerwear

As I mentioned previously, street style is still focused on blazers. Street style fanatics are now gravitating towards more of a bigger, androgynous fit that easily slips on over any outfit. Long lengths, boxy fits and even shirt jackets are getting reworked into this new trend and I am loving it!
