It’s crazy to think that Valentine’s Day is just around the corner! It always falls right around NYFW so participating in this day of love has gotten blurry these last two years. However, I always reminisce about the fun days of planning looks and outfits just for that one annual date night. It always felt so special and romantic to me. Since Spring comprises of some of my favorite beauty trends, I wanted to share some romantic Valentine’s Day makeup ideas for you to put forth in about another week!…
…
Whether you’re into natural, bold, or sizzling looks, I encourage you to experiment because you’ll never know what you end up falling in love with. Here are my favorite romantic Valentine’s Day makeup looks:
Fuchsia Lips
For my more adventurous girls, try a new lip shade. My current favorite is fuchsia! It’s strong, beautiful, and fun! I would definitely do this for more of a Galentine’s Day situation. I love how it perks up the complexion and instantly makes me look younger. Be sure to test out some matte, sheer, satin, and glossy finishes to see what suits you best.
Modern Romance
When it comes to femininity, there’s no color more romantic than pink! Consider this a monochromatic pink makeup look with soft pink eyeshadow, lightly flushed cheeks, and rose bitten lips. Keep your lashes long and fluttery with a lengthening mascara and your brows brushed up. You’ll end up looking bright and dreamy – perfect for that flirty, chick-next-door look.
Get Glowing
One of the beauty trends I spotted off the runways last fashion week season was glowing, glossy skin. There was just so much pink highlighter! Similar to the modern romance look but think more highlights! It’s youthful and ethereal. Just keep in mind that your base has to be flawless – so pick a lightweight foundation and pair it with a highlighting concealer. If you have dry skin, avoid powder altogether.
Valentine’s Classic
This look is a romantic Valentine’s Day makeup idea I’m always obsessed with – classic winged liner and matte red lips. It’s one of the most iconic beauty looks of all time and never gets tiring to look at. All you need is a great liquid eyeliner with strong staying power and a red lipstick or liner. Let me know if you’d like a tutorial on how I line my eyes ;)
Red Hot
When in doubt, red lips never fail! To take your red lips up a notch for Valentine’s Day, layer on some gloss and add a soft smokey eye (love this palette for that). You can also take inspiration from the image above and avoid touching the eye area. It’s such a subtle but still high-impact look – and quite French!
Let me know how you plan on spending your Valentine’s Day!
