To share some backstory, when the Veronica Beard and Intermix team approached me, I immediately knew I wanted to create something classic with a bold twist. I naturally gravitated towards a chunky houndstooth print since I’ve been so inspired by vintage trends – and have always loved playing with textures and patterns. I knew this seasonless print and modern silhouette would be the most versatile to take from work to cocktail hour. I also felt that it was a piece all women would feel their best in. To give you guys a little styling inspiration, I wanted to share two different ways to wear the NotJessFashion blazer.
For the day…
For the day, you can wear this blazer as you would any outerwear piece. I’m obsessed with the double breasted style and asymmetrical design that makes it look so polished and tailored when buttoned up. It’s a great blazer to layer over dresses or skirts if you need to be in the office, but looks just as chic with a pair of jeans and t-shirt on the weekends. I made sure the sleeves can be rolled and pushed up for an effortless touch. But what I love most is the bold print that breathes life into every look. It just stands out so well and contrasts beautifully against anything you’re wearing. It’s a great textural element to add to your daily looks.
For the evening…

Since I’m all about mixing colors, patterns, and textures, I knew this blazer would allow me to piece together some really unique evening looks. The first step to making this blazer more appropriate for a night is out is to wear it unbuttoned, which helps relax the structure. And don’t be afraid to pop the collar just a little. Pair it with jewel tones, velvet, satin, and jacquard for a showstopping ensemble.
