Balmain Dress (Similar & Affordable) | Malone Souliers Heels (Sold out, Similar) | Hoop Earrings Similar
Normally, this would be the busiest time period for me as I would be dashing from city to city trying to catch as many fashion week shows as humanly possible. Of course, like most things, 2020 has reshaped the landscape and we are all finding ways to adapt to the “new normal”. Fashion week is no different and evolved into an #AtHomeFW. Many designers reverted to digital shows and it has been really interesting to see these brands get more creative in their presentations. Although I do miss the hustle and bustle, it was also nice to be able to catch most of the shows from the comfort of my own home. I was able to do some major trendspotting and there is a ton of newness to be excited for! Without further ado, here are some of the most important trends from fashion week that you’ll want to stay on top of.…

Neutrals & Natural Fabrics
At the Fendi show, it was all about tradition, history and love. A lot of the looks featured natural fabrications like linen which correlates with the brand’s desire to be more sustainably conscious. On top of that, neutrals remained one of the most important trends from fashion week. In fact, a majority of the looks were ivory or black with a few splashes of blue and red. Yet, the neutral looks definitely caught my eye most. Monochromatic outfits are hardly going away anytime soon.

Sheer
During Capri’s lunch break, we sat down together to watch the live Alberta Ferretti show and she absolutely loved it. One of the biggest takeaways I took from her Spring/Summer 2021 collection was the amount of delicate, sheer fabric she incorporated into a ton of looks. At the close of the show, I saw the most stunning maxi dresses and all of them were semi-sheer in a subtle, sexy way so definitely be on the lookout for this transparency in fabrications this upcoming spring.

Soft Tailoring
Luxury and comfort meets in the middle in Max Mara’s Ready to Wear collection. Trench coats, tunics, oversized blazers and loose trousers were some of the repeated styles throughout all the outfits. You can tell these looks were created in the midst of quarantine because it really focuses on chic, classic styles but with a newfound appreciation for comfort thanks to the more soft tailoring.

Highlighter Shades & Bold Prints
Versace never lets me down! They always know how to throw a good show – even if it is virtual. Most apparently, the trend that stood at the most was their disruptive, eye catching use of bright fuschias, electric oranges, bold yellows and neon greens. The show was a barrage of bold rainbow designs in both busy prints and solids so do not be afraid of rocking some loud colors next season!

Statement Shoulder
If you looked close enough, you might have spotted me up on the TVs in the background of the show! Like everyone else, I was absolutely enthralled and in awe the entire time. One of the key trends from fashion week was the use of the statement shoulder. This pointy sleeve was incorporated into blazers, button ups, denim jackets and even evening wear. This strong shoulder definitely commands a lot of attention and power.
