That being said, I decided to brace the irregular weather problems and have started gravitating towards my summer-appropriate gear which includes a lot of maxi dresses! I don’t know about you, but dresses are definitely my go-to pieces come summertime because they do not require much thinking and is a complete outfit in itself. Maxi dresses are amazing because they look chic, elongate the body and are so comfortable. 1 Floral
If you took a peek in my wardrobe, you would see the abundance of floral patterned pieces I have accumulated. Florals are not anything new, especially in the midst of spring and summer, but the great thing about them is the multitude of colors and designs available. Trust me, you can always find a new, refreshing floral pattern to add to your collection.
Floral maxi dresses continue to hold a place in my heart for summer 2018. I can think of so many occasions in which one could be worn. Personally, you’ll find me rocking a floral maxi dress to the park with my kids, to brunch with some girlfriends and even to evening events.

If you are looking for an option that is a bit more unique, look no further than the tiered maxi dress. This particular style is flattering on absolutely every body type. Similar to the aforementioned floral maxi dress, the tiered version can be worn for all sorts of occasions. In the past, I have worn one with heels and in another case, I toned it down with a pair of casual white sneakers.

Personally, I believe maxi dresses are made to catch the eye, especially when in a bold, vibrant color. A bright long dress is sure to turn heads wherever you go. I make sure to always pack along one of these options for any summer vacations or trips for an easy, stylish outfit. Plus, these are a lifesaver for any of my fellow mothers on-the-go out there, as they are incredibly comfortable without sacrificing my sense of style.
Despite seemingly dressy, I love bold colored maxis with normcore sneakers, mule loafers, or slides. Try to look for ways to dress them down and make them wearable no matter where you’re headed.

The sheer maxi dress style might not seem like your cup of tea at first, but I encourage you to look at it in new light. It’s a great way to rock the dress with pants trend – or even denim cutoffs. You can also wear other slip dresses underneath for a unique take. I love sheer maxi dresses because they’re a great way to show a little skin, but not too much. The material is also great for hot, steaming weather!

The maxi shirt dress trend is a great one for wearing in between seasons. Sure, you might have it now for summer but I guarantee it’ll come in handy as we head into fall and winter.
If you’re wearing a white shirt dress as Christine is here, add stark, black boots for a kick ass attitude or accessorize the look with pops of red! Some of my other favorite variations to look for this season are stripes – particularly in blue or red for that Parisian vibe.

6 Fun Prints
Last but not least, you must try a fun print this summer. Polka dots are an obvious pick, but don’t be afraid to take it a step further and look for micro geometric prints, fruits, or abstract color block pattern. If you’ve got a sleeveless one, don’t forget to try some of my favorite layering tricks like adding a sheer top or deconstructed shirt underneath. Prints are a top pick for me because you’ll really learn how to become a mix master with your shoes and accessories!
