“Lavender fields of Provence” – Floral Dress Similar | PVC Sandals Similar
If you have never seen the lavender fields of Provence, it’s a destination you need to add onto your bucket list. Sure, there are lavender fields in parts of the Pacific Northwest and even in London, but none like the unwavering sea of lavenders in the South of France. I was so mesmerized by my first experience last year that I knew I had to visit again this year. Dan and I got an airbnb with the fields right in our backyard and it was a dream to wake up to this view everyday. No words can explain the beauty of this region, so here we go with another Provence recap and Instagram outfits round up.…

Our first night in Provence brought us a magically lit sunset and a full moon. I happened to be in this beige dress that just lit up along with the rest of the evening sky. I couldn’t have felt happier with a basket full of fresh lavenders that I picked myself!

Gone Girl
Most people think endless waves of lavender fields when they hear Provence, but there are so many cute little towns. These two photos were shot around Sainte-Croix-du-Verdon. The village sits on the rocky mountains and at the foot lies Lake Sainte Croix where you can fishing and sailing. The view from this side was so unreal.
Now for the outfit, I know a black dress seems like strange choice for someone who loves color, but the ruffle sleeves were perfect for the breezy day. Note the handkerchief around my waist for that French country girl feel.

So you’ve heard and seen enough of the lavender fields on Instagram I’m sure, but what about the sunflowers? I don’t know about you guys, but promenading in field of big open sunflowers brighten up my day. I just so happen to be wearing an orange dress that blended me right in. That calls for arms in the air and catching the summer rays.

Orange is the New Black
I noticed myself wearing a lot of orange tones on this trip, which worked out extremely well with the purple lavenders. This DVF dress popped so brightly against the fields – and couldn’t have made me feel more confident in my feminine form. If you’ve ever tried DVF dresses, then you know that her wrap styles tend to have that effect.

Flamenco in Provence
There’s something about the energy in Southern France that makes me want to stow away all the fancy frocks and stroll around freely. Thank goodness for this little Phillip Lim number! It allowed me to do that and more. The details are intricate yet easy on the eyes.

Here goes another lunch picnic on the side of the road because I love this view of Gordes, another hilltop village. I believe it’s considered one of the most beautiful in France and lives up to that reputation. I went with this hi-lo piece from Free People because I knew it’d help withstand the heat. Plus, the print is just too cute.

Now if you guys read my Instagram post, then you’ll remember that this is the part where I got stung. The lavender fields are gorgeous but brimming with buzzing bees. Thankfully the denizens are so kind and a few women treated my wound with fresh lavender. Once I felt better, it was back to lunch with a gorgeous view. I’ll forever remember the kindness of the residents here.

Fun in the Sun
After lots of pretty sundresses, I decided to veer off course for a bit. So out came an unexpected color combination of green, orange, and yellow! If you’re open to experimenting with mixing color, you might want to start with muted tones first and gradually build your way into more vibrant ones.

On the Spot
I loved exploring the area and running in and out of the towns, but also wanted to take advantage of our view. So Dan and I opted for a few lunch dates on the porch of our airbnb.
I loved every bit of the old school vibes (still so giddy over this red table cloth!!), but decided to bring in some edge with my outfit. These shoes defy the whole setting in the most perfect way.

And for my last look, of course I had to bring out the tulle and live out my fairytale dreams! I love mixing separate pieces that can pass as a jumper or a dress when worn together but actually are not. The key to doing this is by making sure the tones are close enough and the fabrics are similar. I also like creating color-themed outfits because they can look quite dreamy.
