Pink coats are pretty much the new neutral coat. In winter, we often let our wardrobe reflect how we feel—so cold! It’s easy to stick to greys and blacks and browns. And while neutrals are gorgeous when done in style, a pop of color can boost your mood and draw some eyes. And pink coats are the trendy way to do just that. Pink coats are an absolute fall and winter must-have. A pink coat also makes an excellent transition piece for those cooler spring days and nights.
A pink coat isn’t as hard to style as you think. It has neutral undertones, and goes with every neutral you’re wearing all winter, anyway! Here’s some tips and tricks to styling a pink coat to enviable perfection!
Pink and White: Before getting a pink coat, it’s smart to think about how it fits in your current wardrobe rotation. A longline pink coat looks great with white, and is quite a refreshing look in that dark, dark, sea of black. Try a little white dress (LBW, anyone?) and winter up the look with a pair of booties!
Pink and Grey: This is the ultimate winter color combo, especially in lighter grey hues. The contrast—which isn’t too stark—lets pink be the star of the show.
Pile on the Layers: Especially in winter, layers can often make a simple outfit work. Add some texture into the mix with a blanket scarf and a neutral beanie.
More pink: Go for a monochromatic look! Wear your pink coat with a pink top in a different hue and/or pants in a darker pink hue!
Don’t fear patterns: Don’t let the big statement your pink coat makes shy you away from pairing it with a bold black and white stripe, or a bright and brilliant floral!
Go classic: Pretend your pink coat is a camel colored coat, and wear what you’d wear with that. Hint: you can’t go wrong with black slacks, a white blouse, loafers, and your favorite sunglasses.
