The first thing (or things because I will probably bring several) on my agenda are fun, patterned dresses. Escaping from the ins-and-outs of daily life requires a celebration and you want your wardrobe to reflect just that! Whether you opt for a dainty floral or a more modern geometric, it is a great way to get in the mood and to show off your personality. Plus, there is only one garment component to the outfit, making dresses really convenient for packing too. As for the perfect resort-like accessory, we have to give credit to the straw bag. On the other hand, you might have a more formal dinner worked into your itinerary, so obviously you are going to need an outfit to match the vibe. An elegant maxi dress in a flattering color is the perfect evening wear option for your vacay. Nowadays, there are so many chic maxi dresses to shop featuring added details such as ruffles and asymmetrical hemlines. By now, you all probably know that matching sets continue to have my heart. They’re one of my favorite vacation outfits ever because make getting dressed 10 times easier and also provide the guarantee that you will come out with a chic outfit 100% of the time. This is why coordinating sets are ideal resort wear. A loose top and matching shorts can be thrown over a bathing suit as a cover up. Or a printed statement sleeve top tucked into a pair of identical shorts gives the illusion of a romper or one piece, ideal for a cute on-the-go outfit. Plus, once you invest in a matching set, you double your outfit choices as you could always mix-and-match the top and bottom with other pieces in your suitcase.

Mini Dress & Sneakers
The hard part about choosing an array of looks for your getaway is trying to find a balance between stylish and comfortable. This holds especially true if you plan on doing a lot of exploring or walking around. This is why I always suggest bringing along a pair of comfortable sneakers you can wear and comfortably get around in as you accomplish everything on your trip itinerary. And to resolve the style portion of the problem, I have to go with a dress once again! I love both separately but together, a mini dress and a pair of sneakers looks so contemporary and style-savvy. There is something so wonderful about the juxtaposition of the feminine dress and the more casual footwear.

Of course – what is a vacation without a stylish bathing suit? As much as I love statement swimwear, it is always good to have a timeless style you can count on for any situation. For me, this translates to a solid bikini with no added bells or whistles and a flattering one piece. As long as I have one or both of those on hand, I am ready for whatever adventure or vacation that might ensue!
