Provence for Lavenders
Provence is one of my favorite places in the world – and it is exceptional for all your greatest flower field dreams. Dan and I have visited here a couple of times now and it never fails to take my breath away. The expansive sea of lavender is so incredibly aromatic and unlike anything else. Flowering season falls between mid June to early July, making this the best time to visit. It feels particularly special in Provence because there are two kinds of lavenders – the darker purple ones and then lighter pink ones.
Seattle/Portland for Lavenders
If you want to experience the beauty of a lavender field within the United States, all you need to do is make a quick trip out to the Pacific Northwest – to Seattle or Portland. Lavender growing has gotten so big there… Washington has its own annual lavender festival at the end of July.
Portland has various lavender fields dispersed throughout the state with each more beautiful than the next. If you’re looking for a specific place, check out Hood River in Oregon!

Netherlands for Tulips
In the spring, Holland transforms itself into a magical, colorful sea of tulips that reach as far as the eye can see. Although there are multiple places to see the tulips, I heard Keukenhof is somewhere everyone needs to go at least once in their lives. Home to about 7 million bulbs in the park, you’ll be blown away by the scenery.
Oregon for the Dahlia Festival
At the end of the summer, you should plan a visit to Canby, Oregon to attend the annual Dahlia Festival. This event features hundreds of floral arrangements, as well as a far-reaching 40 acre field of dahlias in full bloom, in which you can cut and take home with you. The event also come with live music and tons of food trucks, making it a really fun, family friendly vacation.

Every spring season, the Antelope Valley is filled with wildflowers that vary in color, scent, and duration every year. The best time to visit is mid-February to the end of May, when the poppy flowers are at their fullest potential. This year happened to be a super bloom, a rare desert phenomenon in which almost all the flowers bloom in synchronization.
