Now that we are reemerging from the harsh environmental conditions of winter, all of our skin can collectively let out a sigh of relief. Warmer, balmier weather means your skin will likely be more hydrated and give off more of a natural glow. Less is certainly more too. Although many of the spring 2022 beauty trends are meant to make a statement, natural beauty will always be in – especially for those days when you just cannot be bothered to get all glammed up. For the last few years, I have been on the quest to perfect an easy, yet flattering natural look. I finally narrowed it down to 5 essential steps! Continue reading to see how to achieve the no-makeup makeup look just in time for spring.…

Exfoliate
To really accentuate that natural glow within your skin, it is so important to incorporate exfoliation into your routine. In the springtime, I love switching it up to a gentle exfoliator so that I can use it daily to achieve more noticeably smoother and brighter skin. By ensuring this step is an essential part of your skincare ritual, you can slough away at the dull, dead skin, leaving nothing but healthy hydration behind. After all, good skin is the most important part of achieving that coveted no-makeup makeup look. A stellar skincare routine will ensure you create a smooth, supple base for the rest of the steps below.

Moisturize & Protect
This next portion of the routine should really be catered to your own skin and whatever products you like to use best. After exfoliation, your skin is very raw and ready to drink up those hydration induced products. At this time of the year, I love amping up on products with vitamin C as this miracle ingredient works to brighten the skin, while also protecting it from the environmental elements. You can utilize a vitamin C serum and then to further lock in the moisture, I would layer on your go-to moisturizer. Perhaps you will want to swap out your ultra thick winter cream for something a little more lightweight.
As always, I would be remiss to not mention sun protection when speaking about anything in regards to skincare. I’ll say it louder for the people in the back too – SPF is the best way to prolong youthful skin and to prevent anti-aging and premature wrinkles. But do not just apply it in the morning and forget about it. When possible, reapply your favorite SPF throughout the day for ultimate skin protection power.

Perfect Your Brows
Now that the skincare portion is over. It is time to move on to the minimal products needed to create the perfect no-makeup makeup look. Brows are so important when it comes to framing your face so I always be sure to include this step, even if I am opting for a minimal look. However, you can speed up this step with a bit of brow gel to brush the hairs in the direction of its natural growth. If you need a little bit more filled in, go in with your brow pencil.

Light Coverage
Next, it is time to lightly cover up any blemishes or under eye bags to give you that flawless finish for the perfect no-makeup makeup look. For a result that is almost as natural as possible, tinted moisturizers, BB creams, and lightweight skin tints will be your best friend. Apply with clean fingers or use a dampened makeup sponge to blend the product in.

Cream Coloration
Last but not least, you may or may not want to add a little bit of color to your face! I suggest sticking to cream products to achieve this no-makeup makeup look because these formulas tend to blend right into your skin, thus looking a bit more natural than powder alternatives. For the springtime, I love utilizing a peachy blush to pop on the apples of my cheeks for some healthy coloration. Feel free to add your favorite highlighter for that extra glow.
