Back when I first started blogging and sharing my outfits, one of the hardest things for me to get creative with was posing. Since I was new to everything, I worried over the thought of being judged for being seen as narcissistic. Due to this uncomfortable feeling, I found myself reverting to the same old poses time and time again. But doing the same thing can get boring for you and your followers! Fast forward and about a million photoshoots later, I truly feel comfortable nailing the perfect shot. I bet a lot of you feel the same way I did long ago and that’s okay. You just need to summon up some confidence and soon you will be a posing expert! If this is something you struggle with, read on for some of my favorite fashion blogger posing tips.…

Triangle Rule
Recently, I posted a Reels about the magic of the triangle. It is so boring to just stand point blank at the camera. Good photos really rely on movement and interest.
The triangle trick is when you literally use your body to create invisible triangles. For example, place your hand on your hip for a triangle in-between your arm and side. You could also try crouching down but keep one leg folded and the other on the ground for support. Boom – you created another triangle underneath your knee.
Keeping this trick in mind will definitely allow for better photos!

Keep Your Hands Busy
One of the biggest posing mistakes is when you start to shoot but suddenly have no clue what to do with your hands! Of course, you do not want to leave them limp by your sides. Instead, you can use props like accessories or drinks so you have something to hold on to. Or you can take advantage of the outfit itself. Tuck your hands into your pockets or hold on to the lapels of your coat. Lastly, you could also adjust your body language to avoid awkward hands too! Place your hand on your head, hip, knee, etc. See it in action HERE.

Extend One Leg
When sitting down for a photo, do not make the mistake of just placing your feet down. It makes for an okay photo but just a few adjustments and it has the potential to look so much better! Firstly, be sure to stretch your legs in front of you to give the illusion of being tall even whilst sitting.
You can cross your legs but be sure the one on top does not press into the calf of your lower leg. To take a step further, move the top leg up a little higher to elongate your lower half even further. See it in action HERE and HERE.

Shoot in Burst Mode
It is easy to feel uninspired or comfortable just reverting to the same positions over and over again. One of my top fashion blogger posing tips to switch it up is to keep moving. Have your photographer shoot in a burst of photos. If you are using an iPhone, just simply have them spam the shoot button. You can move around, shift your weight, adjust your arms and legs as you please while they take the photos. Some of the best shots are candids from this moving pose method!

All About the Angle
Whether you are shooting on a tripod or have enlisted a photographer (who could also be your boyfriend, friend or parent!), it really comes down to the angles. Before shooting, you should play around and take some test shots to see what angles you find most flattering. I am a big fan of having the lens or phone camera slightly pointing up to my body. This way, my legs are elongated and it looks like I am taller than I actually am! Be sure to provide guidance to your photographer so they aware of how to capture from your most flattering angles.
