Fall officially starts tomorrow and there are going to be plenty of opportunities for date nights with the holidays following suit. I wanted to quickly round up some easy fall date night outfits with versatile pieces that you can repurpose into a variety of other looks. I’m all for pieces that can be arranged into more than one outfit otherwise it’s just wasteful. So whether you’re off to the movies, a romantic dinner, or staying in, count on these combos to get you through the entire season.

Slip Dress & Faux Fur Coat

Slip dresses may sound like the cliche these days but they’re still a staple in my wardrobe. Though seemingly simple, they’re incredibly classic and chic especially with a pair of stiletto heels. Give your basic slip dress an update by going for a bold color (like green) or an animal print. Take it for a spin on a night out with a faux fur coat (love this one) or layer it underneath a turtleneck sweater during the day.

For a bold, statement-making ensemble, sequin top and slick trousers will surely turn heads. Of course you don’t have to go for something as loud as red – black sequins will even do the talking. Pair this combo with tie-waist trousers and kitten heels, you’ll be all set for an evening out.

Ever heard the term leather weather? That’s what this season is all about, and I’m obsessing over dress and jacket combos in this material. It’s already equal parts edgy and elevated, but you can take it up a notch with gold jewelry and pointed-toe boots. Temper a leather dress during the day by exchanging a leather jacket for wool and switching the boots for sneakers.

There’s nothing better than a chunky sweater dress in the fall. Note that an oversized sweater can sometimes function as a dress too (as seen above). Instead of the usual over the knee boots, style this look with kitten heels for a leggier look, which is just perfect for date night! Rework it for the day with leather leggings.
