There are certain fashion pieces that are only meant to be worn at certain times of the year and others that have more versatility. Although boots can be worn year-round, very few styles can work in the warmer months. Now that summer finally feels like it’s over and we are headed into October, it’s more than appropriate to pull out all your fall gear, including your favorite boots. There are 5 fresh boot styles I can’t get enough of, so if you’re in need of a reboot, let’s talk the only ones that matter.…

Printed Boots
My favorite boot style this fall goes to a cute pair of printed booties. They are the perfect fall footwear option to start with because they can be slipped on with all of your looks. Plus, they come in a variety of styles and aesthetics, depending on what look you are going for. I absolutely love my houndstooth boots for more casual occasions – like when I am grabbing coffee or running errands. It’s a nice way to add a pop of pattern and texture to your fall outfit. Other favorites are animal print, especially python and leopard. A lower heel with an ankle-height shaft are the most comfortable option.

Kitten Heel
For a more polished look, go with a pair of sleek kitten heel boots. I am so grateful for the return of the kitten heel because it makes walking around the city light years easier. No sore feet this fall! A sock style, kitten heel boot is one of my go-to’s with cropped pants or jeans. If you’re a mini skirt kinda girl, then the shorter heel makes a higher hemline less risque.

Lace Up Boots
Whether you’re into lug sole hiker boots or a sleek city girl version, lace up boots will offer edge to any fall look. It’s definitely a cool girl boot style that takes some getting used to. Your best bet is to start out pairing them with denim then transition them into flowy skirts or ruffle dresses.

Knee High
Pulling off knee high boots during this time of year is a lot easier than you think! Playing with lengths and proportions will ensure the outfit looks balanced and appropriate. I find that this pair of shoe works best if you’re styling them with shorter skirts (think midi and mini) or with skinny pants tucked into them. Slouchy styles are re-emerging in this category and I can’t wait to wear them. This style is optimal for more casual events or even for a night out.

Cowboy Boots
When it comes to styling cowboy boots, I find going with an outfit as weightless as possible is best.Oftentimes, I opt for a mini skirt or skinny jeans to prevent my outfit from looking too busy. Playing up your cowboy boots as the hero piece is crucial to keeping your look effortless and comfortable even during the coldest temperatures.
