In the past, I told you guys that I usually opt for Airbnb but last season, I struggled with the space of the room I booked. I’ve realized that the benefit of luxury hotels is that what you see online is typically what you get. Plus, I wanted to shake things up and have heard great things about The Wagner Hotel, so I decided it was time to do something different. The experience was so out of this world that I wanted to tell you guys all about it in case you’re ever in the city.
Location
When I first stumbled upon The Wagner Hotel, I immediately noticed the location – it’s a true hidden gem. Situated in Battery Park (one of my favorite spots for photos), I found it to be the perfect location if you’re looking to explore the luxuries of Downtown Manhattan. It’s in walking distance of the Financial District, 9/11 Memorial and Museum, and the One World Observatory. It’s also perfect for other tourist attractions like the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.
On the less touristy side, it gives you great access to all my favorite neighborhoods, including TriBeca, SoHo, Chinatown (great Chinese food!!), and Greenwich Village. That means you can get to Brooklyn within a matter of minutes if you want to walk the bridge or visit Dumbo!
Suite Features
When I arrived to my room, I was stunned by the amount of space I had! Since it was fashion week, having a place to lay out all of my clothes is extremely important.
This makes outfit planning more seamless especially since I can quickly take inventory of what I have. My suite did not fall short of space. Even after laying everything out, I still had a ton of room to eat, work, and relax.
Space aside, I found room extremely tranquil and comfortable, which is just what I need after a hectic full day. The suites are also great for families who like a little privacy. I was able to get a connecting room for my other photographer without him feeling like he was isolated – or that we were intruding on one another.
The view from my room was also impressive! One one side, I got to catch the action of the bustling city and on the other, was a huge window overlooking the water. The telescope made those stunning views even better!
Five Star Service
The beauty of luxury hotels are one thing, but the service is another. I’m happy to report that The Wagner Hotel exceeded in every aspect. It’s wonderful having access to amenities and services like free bike rentals, a well-equipped fitness center, and a quality restaurant, but five-star service is the most memorable. Between the front desk, room service, and doormen, their staff was one of the best – and most polite I have seen. They were all so friendly and helpful, making me feel welcomed every time I set foot inside. I wouldn’t hesitate to book another stay here.
Overall, The Wagner Hotel was one of the best hotel experiences I’ve had in NYC. If you’re ever dropping by, check them out because they’ll blow away all your expectations!
